About Pure Physio
Matthew Stevens, DPT, Owner
Matthew C. Stevens PT, DPT graduated from Walsh University in 2010 with a doctoral degree in Physical Therapy. He attended Baldwin-Wallace College for his undergraduate studies in Pre-Physical Therapy and Exercise Science, where he also played collegiate football for four years. His clinical expertise include outpatient orthopedics, post-operative rehabilitation and sports injuries. Matt was certified to perform dry needling by the American Dry Needling Institute in 2012. His post-graduate studies has been focused on manual therapy of the spine and extremities including Maitland and McKenzie techniques and diagnosis of shoulder pathology in throwing athletes. He has broadened his scope of practice by becoming certified in Thai Massage in 2014.
In January 2015, Matt founded Pure Physio in Strongsville, Ohio to provide the community and Greater Cleveland area with the most innovative rehabilitation services. Matt’s ongoing commitment to education and training ensure that his patients receive the most current and effective treatments, including hands-on manual therapy, dry needling and corrective exercise. When Matt is not treating patients, he enjoys training for triathlons, cycling, crossfitting, water skiing, and practicing yoga.
Ryan Summers, DPT, CSCS
Dr. Ryan Summers is a physical therapist and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist located in the greater Cleveland area. He comes to Cleveland after spending the last three years traveling and practicing throughout the United States, from Hawaii to Boston, Seattle to Richmond, and various other cities in between. He has experience working in a multitude of sports rehabilitation and orthopedic outpatient clinics with patients ranging from the elderly to elite athletes to Special Operations Forces at Fort Bragg.
Ryan played college basketball at Division III Bethany College and is a renowned expert in working with jumping athletes at all levels. He currently provides online services through his website AMPSrehab.com while also working with patients/clients at Pure Physio located in Strongsville, OH. Ryan strives to be the compass that guides you to a life of optimal performance and improved overall well-being.
Pure Physio Facility
Pure Physio is a functional-based rehabilitation facility located in Strongsville, Ohio. Our goal is to implement corrective exercise and functional training to reduce injury and improve performance. We utilize kettle bells, TRX trainers, plyometric boxes, physio balls, gymnastic rings, free-weights and body-weight exercises in our personalized rehabilitation protocols. Pure Physio is equipped with a treadmill and camera with a slow motion app to evaluate running technique. Pure Physio has two private treatment rooms to enhance patient privacy and comfort. Private treatment rooms are utilized to perform all initial evaluations, manual therapy techniques, dry needling and other one-on-one treatments.

In the state of Ohio you do not need a physician referral to receive physical therapy services.
Generally, physical therapy visits at Pure Physio will last between 30-60 minutes. The treatment duration will be determined by the physical therapists evaluation and the patients needs.
The frequency and duration will vary depending on the patients condition. Our goal is return to patients and athletes to their prior level of function as quickly and safely as possible. We pride ourselves on providing our patients with the knowledge and tools to manage their own symptoms and decrease their risk for re-injury.
Because Pure Physio is privately owned and independently operated, we are one of the few clinics willing to work out an individual payment plan. Simply contact the office manager to make an arrangement that works with your lifestyle and budget.
Pure Physio accepts Medical Mutual, Aetna, Anthem BCBS and Medicare. If you are not in network with these providers we are able to print you a receipt for the services you receive at Pure Physio. It is then the patients’ responsibility to submit the receipt to their provider as an out-of-network service for reimbursement.
Comfortable and loose fitting clothes. Feel free to change when you arrive. If you are coming for your hip, knee or back, it is best to wear shorts. We have gowns available if needed.
Please arrive about ten minutes early to complete paperwork. Bring your insurance card and drivers license. If you taking any medication please bring a copy of your current prescriptions. Please wear or bring proper clothing.
You will be introduced to your physical therapist who will talk with you about your medical history and perform an evaluation. The therapist will evaluate strength, ranges of motion, general mobility and functional limitations. Treatment will generally start the same day.
